Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom is set to move to Greek club PAOK during the coming days according to Goal.

This will be a permanent deal and Unai Emery’s side will receive a reported £2 million.

The 22-year-old Akpom is a product of the Gunners youth development system and has been with the club since he was just 6-years-old.

The former England Under-21 international made his debut for the Gunners back in 2013 but never managed to establish himself within the first-team. All in all, he only managed 12 appearances for the club in all competitions and never found the back of the net.

Under the guidance of Arsene Wenger, Akpom underwent loan spells with six different clubs but he never managed to impress at one of them.

He spent last season on the books of Sint-Truidense V.V in Belgium and scored 6 goals from 16 appearances for the club.

This is a win-win situation for both club and player.

Akpom never really proved that he is worthy of being an Arsenal first-team member and with the likes of Lucas Perez and Danny Welbeck ahead of him in the club’s pecking order, he would have probably received very little game time if he stayed on.

The youngster now gets a chance to kick-start his career and he is now at an age where he should be focusing on playing regular football rather than learning.
