Real Madrid go head to head with Real Sociedad in a crunch La Liga encounter on Wednesday. After their thumping win over Rayo Vallecano last week, Los Blancos will be hoping to get their title bid back on track with a win against La Real at the Santiago Bernabeu tomorrow.
New manager Rafael Benitez is under tremendous pressure to deliver and if media reports are to be believed, the former Napoli manager has already lost the backing of some of his players.
Benitez’s cautious approach in games and increased rotation has not gone down well amongst the Real Madrid players and several senior players including the likes of Sergio Ramos and Karim Benzema have questioned the manager’s methods.
Although Benitez has received a public backing from the club president Florentino Perez, Jose Mourinho’s availability has now piled further pressure on the Spaniard.
Real Madrid are already playing catch-up in the title race and Los Blancos cannot afford to lose any more ground on their rivals. Tomorrow’s game is a must win for Benitez and Real Madrid.
As for Real Sociedad, the away side will be aware of Real Madrid’s inconsistencies and will look to punish them. The Basque side are wounded after their humiliating defeat against Villarreal in front of their home fans and will look to bounce back with a statement result against the Spanish giants.

After recovering from their respective injuries, the likes of Toni Kroos and Sergio Ramos are expected to start against La Real tomorrow. Colombian midfielder James Rodriguez is expected to continue in midfield.
Benitez is set to go ahead with an unchanged front three of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale.
Although Dani Carvajal is close to full fitness for the hosts, Danilo is expected to start this week.
As for Real Sociedad, David Zurutuza is the only injury worry for the away side.
Full back Alberto De La Bella has already served his suspension and should be back in the match day squad. Midfielder Sergio Canales is expected to start on the left wing.
