Ryo Miyaichi has left Arsenal and joined Germany’s second division side St Pauli on Thursday.

The Japanese international was joined by defender Semi Ajayi, who has agreed to join Cardiff City. The two players were released by the north London club after Miyaichi managed just handful of appearances, while Ajayi failed to break into the first team.

Miyaichi completed his move after successful passing the medical at St Pauli. He becomes the second Japanese player to play for the German outfit after Kazuo Ozaki.

Miyaichi is a good choice! For us it has always been on the right side. At that time, although he was only 18, but you could see his quality already.

Ivan Klasnic, who played with the Asian winger during when both were at Bolton believes Miyaichi is a very good addition to St Pauli.

“Miyaichi is a good choice! For us it has always been on the right side. At that time, although he was only 18, but you could see his quality already,” the Croatian was quoted as saying by Bild.

“In character, he is also top. One who likes to work and is diligent, but also funny. If the team receives him well and he accustoms quickly, I can imagine that it works.’

After a disappointing spell at Arsenal, Miyaichi will be hoping he can kick start his career in Germany.
