Brazilian midfielder Philippe Coutinho is all set to sign a bumper new deal at the club.

The 24-year-old was being linked with moves to PSG and Barcelona over the last few weeks, but the former Inter Milan player is ready to commit his long-term future to the Reds.

Daily Mirror are reporting that Coutinho has already agreed to a five-year deal worth around £200,000 a week. The report adds that once the deal is signed, Coutinho will become the highest earner at the club. Furthermore, there is no release clause in the new deal as well.

Luis Suarez signed a similar mega deal before leaving for Barcelona. But Suarez’s contract had a release clause which enabled the Catalan giants to sign him. It seems that Liverpool have learnt from their past mistakes in case of Coutinho.

Coutinho joined Liverpool in 2012 for a fee of £8.5 million and has been a major hit for the Reds. The Brazilian has established himself as one of the best players in the Premier League as well.

Daily Mirror‘s report claims that the reason why Coutinho has chosen to sign the new deal is Jurgen Klopp. Apparently, the player rates Klopp as the best manager around and wants to win trophies under him.

Liverpool fans will be delighted with the news especially with the likes of Barcelona eyeing up a move. An official confirmation is expected once all formalities are completed.
