Manchester United will not be able to snatch Croatian sensation Alen Halilovic from under the noses of Barcelona, claims his current manager at Dinamo Zagreb.

Halilovic, dubbed the Croatian Messi, agreed a move to Barcelona in February, but it was thought that complications may arise due to the Catalan club being handed a two year transfer ban for breaking laws regarding the signing of under-18 players.

Indeed, it had been reported that Manchester duo United and City were watching closely, looking for a way to hijack the deal. However, Halilovic’s current boss at Dinamo, Zoran Mamic, who is also the club’s director of sport, has revealed that the transfer will go ahead as planned, despite Barca’s new transfer sanctions,

“I called the Barcelona board and got an assurance that the sentence does not affect the transfer of Alen Halilovic,”  Mamic told Croatian site ‘Sportske Novosti’,

“Everything is fine, there is no need for speculation. Alen will move to Barcelona after this season, that is for sure.

“The contract is signed and you can be sure that nothing unusual will happen.”

However, Barcelona still face an uneasy future, with the two year ban threatening to give full impetus to both Real and Atletico Madrid in La Liga, and with a number of players entering their thirties, the Catalan club could struggle in the coming years.
