The Red Devils are in desperate need of reinforcement and failing to do so could see them miss out on top four this season, having blown out of the title race already.
Central midfield is one of the areas where Moyes needs to add quality players as early as possible. The Red Devils were linked with several potential world class players like Koke, Gundogan etc, but getting them could be difficult at the moment.
Moyes has faced a lot of criticism so far in his short tenure at United and last thing the Red Devils fans want to see is their manager involving in another panic buy.
According to the reports from The Mirror, Manchester United are targeting Newcastle United’s highly rated midfielder Yohan Cabaye in January. The Red Devils could soon lodge a formal bid in the region of £20m to test the resolve of the Toon chiefs.
Arsenal were also thought to be interested in Cabaye while French giants Paris Saint Germain are also in the race to sign him. The Gunners moved for the 28-year-old at the start of the season and was left out of the match day squad for the Magpies’ away trip to Manchester City on the opening day of the Premier League.
Well, Cabaye would be a good signing for Manchester United. He possesses good passing ability, vision while his defensive work-rate is highly admirable. Then again, paying £20m for a 28-year-old, who is not even the first choice target, will be considered as all but a panic buy yet again.
Should Manchester United go for Yohan Cabaye in January?
