Jose Mourinho rejected an approach from Real Madrid before the Spanish club appointed Zinedine Zidane as their manager earlier.

The Portuguese was asked to return to his former club but he has chosen to stay in England for now as the sacked Chelsea boss favours a move to Manchester United.

Mourinho is aware of Louis Van Gaal’s situation and knows that United will be looking for a new manager in the summer, and therefore, he is unwilling to accept another job.

Earlier when Fergie retired, Mourinho could not take the Manchester United job because he had already accepted a job offer from Chelsea.

This time, Mourinho is keen to wait for his chance.

The Portuguese has been linked with a move to Old Trafford over the last few weeks and it will be no surprise seeing him take charge of the Premier League giants.

It will be interesting to see if Manchester United make a formal approach anytime soon.

Considering Manchester United’s history and financial muscle, Mourinho is an ideal candidate for them and could take them back to the glory days next season.

Jose Mourinho is a massive fan favourite at Stamford Bridge and the Chelsea fans will surely be unhappy if he chooses to join Manchester United in the future.
