Jose Mourinho is close to agreeing on a move to Manchester United. The Portuguese is on the brink of taking over from Louis Van Gaal.

The former Chelsea manager was sacked after a poor start to this season and is already eyeing a return to management with the Old Trafford outfit.

Current Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal is expected to leave the club at the end of this season and Mourinho is ready to take charge of the Premier League giants according to reports from Italy.

The report states that a summer move is on the cards and it is highly unlikely that Van Gaal will be given his marching orders between now and the end of the season.

Manchester United are back in the top four race after a few impressive displays against Liverpool and Stoke City. The Red Devils are fighting Arsenal and Tottenham for the fourth and final Champions League spot from England.

Jose Mourinho has been linked with the Manchester United job ever since Sir Alex Ferguson decided to step down. However, the Portuguese had already accepted an offer from Chelsea back then and the Old Trafford outfit were forced to settle for David Moyes.

With the likes of Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp joining Manchester City and Liverpool, this is a golden opportunity for Manchester United to snap up a world class manager as well. Despite his struggles at Chelsea this season, Mourinho is an elite coach and is certainly capable of taking Manchester United back to their former glories.

Mourinho joining United will not go down well with the Stamford Bridge faithful who idolize the Portuguese and were unhappy with his departure earlier this season.
