Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana is confident that his team will finish in top four this season, irrespective of the result on Sunday against Manchester United.

In Q & A session, when Lallana was asked which teams he fancies to finish in top four, he said as quoted by The Mirror: “Chelsea, City, us and Arsenal.”

“Yes, definitely,” replied Lallana, when later asked if he stood by his bold prediction to the students at Liverpool’s Blue Coat School. “There’s a long way to go, and I’m sure everyone has their opinions, but I’m confident we can finish in the top four.

“We could still finish second, third or fourth, realistically, because of the run we’re on and we just need to remain focused.”

Liverpool face fourth placed Manchester United on Sunday at Anfield, where victory for the Reds would see them leap-frog their arch rivals and move into top four.

Lallana’s confidence stems from Liverpool’s impressive turn out in the second half of the season – the Reds are unbeaten in last 16 games, picked up 33 points from the last 39, and are the only team who are yet to lose in the Premier League post January.
