Time is running out for Ed Woodward and Manchester United.

Manchester United are in dire need of reinforcement. They have been linked with some world class players but with less than 13 days to go before the window closes, it remains to be seen, whether United can actually land those targets.

Earlier today we have reported that Manchester United were close to sealing a deal for Sporting left-back Marcos Rojo.

The Argentine was one of the most consistent performers during the World Cup. Although he plays as a left-back, he is equally good in central defence as well.

The Times reckon that Louis van Gaal is keen to land one more versatile defender to his team and is considering making a move for Holland defender Daley Blind.

Blind produced some superb performances for The Oranje during the World Cup (especially his two sublime passes against Spain are worth mentioning) and has worked closely with the United manager.

He has been linked with United earlier in the summer while was a reported target of Barcelona as well.

Blind is a versatile defender, who can also play in the midfield. The 24-year-old Ajax star would represent a good signing for United, but the question remains – can Woodward secure for a deal for him before the transfer deadline day?
