Manchester United manager David Moyes feels that if his side can keep up the intensity seen in the last couple of matches, they could secure a stunning victory over Manchester City on Tuesday.

United, currently languishing in 7th place, are all but out of the race to qualify for Champions League next season, but can put a dent in the title bid of their noisy neighbours, City, at Old Trafford midweek.

Moyes is fully focused on getting the job done on Tuesday, with the pain of a poor season spurring him to give the fans something to cheer about,

He said: “I can only see it as us winning.”

“I want to be competing for the title and I’m not, so that for me is a big enough low, never mind thinking about who else wins it. City has its own focus and we have ours.

“We need to pick up points to try to get to the top end of the league.”

Moyes will be very happy with the response from his team, after their humiliating defeat at the hands of Liverpool eight days ago, which saw speculation concerning his future at the club hit fever pitch.

But his side have bounced back well, and after securing back to back victories, he has called on his players to carry forward the momentum in coming games.

The Red Devils will be without skipper Nemanja Vidic on Tuesday, who serves the final game of a two-match suspension, while Dutch striker Robin van Persie could miss the rest of the campaign through injury.
