La Liga expert Guillem Balague wrote in his article that Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United target Sevilla’s Ivan Rakitic will not leave the club in the January transfer window, but the player is almost certain to leave in the summer.

The 25-year-old has been in tremendous form this season and has scored eight goals already, further providing six assists as well.

In December, Liverpool Echo reported that Reds manager Brendan Rodgers sent scouts to keep an eye on the midfielder. Sevilla already sold Jesus Navas and Alvaro Negredo to join Manchester City in the summer, but the cash strapped Andalusian club could be willing to sell the player should the offer is right.

Rakitic has also been linked with French champions PSG and the player admitted that he is flattered by the approach.

“I remain faithful to my course of action. Things were going well for me right now. I want it to continue like this even go even higher. I also see all the rumors of the moment, it is a pride to see my name associated with that of a club such as Paris SG.”

The president of Sevilla however doesn’t close the door of Rakitic moving in the winter transfer window as well, but insisted that any potential buyer club will have to pay his buy-out clause. He said:

“Ivan Rakitic?  He has one and a half year contract in Seville. But we will continue. If someone is in a hurry to recruit, he knows that his clause is €40m”

Sevilla are punching above their weights this season and are one of the favourites to book a place in Europe. They probably won’t be willing to part ways with a key member of the squad at the moment.

Chelsea having signed Matic, so they won’t go for him, likewise Manchester United have other targets like Pogba and Vidal and probably Liverpool won’t pay that much amount of fees for any player now.

Do you think Manchester United and Liverpool should go for him?
