Schweinsteiger has picked up an injury with Germany

Manchester United have been dealt a massive injury blow as midfielder, Bastian Schweinsteiger picked up an injury during training.

The former Bayern Munich midfielder is away on international duty and has picked up an injury during one of the training sessions. The midfielder is already out of the Euro Qualifier against Republic of Ireland.

Schweinsteiger, who picked up a thigh injury is now facing a race against time to be fit for the game against Georgia and then Everton, with Manchester United.

Louis Van Gaal is already troubled with the number of injuries in his squad and will be concerned with Schweinsteiger’s injury now.

Manchester United are without their captain Wayne Rooney, who picked up an injury as well and will not feature for England this week. Along with Luke Shaw, defender Marcos Rojo is ruled out with a hamstring injury.

Rojo has already missed the last four games for Manchester United.

Manchester United travel to Everton on the 17th of October and Van Gaal will be hoping to get his players back before then.

Roberto Martinez’ Everton have made an impressive start to the season and will look to continue their good home record against Manchester United.

Van Gaal’s side need a win to get back to the top of the table and these injuries could be a big blow.
