New Real Madrid boss Rafael Benitez has been assured that Welsh winger Gareth Bale will not be sold to Manchester United or any other club.

Bale suffered relatively poor campaign this season and came under lots of criticism from the Madrid press and the fans. His poor form, coupled with his struggle to win over the hearts of Madrid fans led to strong reports of him being returning to the Premier League, with Manchester United thought to be the front runner in the race to sign him.

The truth is Bale never wanted to move, neither Real Madrid wanted to sell. Bale’s agent met with Florentino Perez recently and has told the club president that the Welshman’s form has dipped because he has been played out of position.

According to Marca, Perez also communicated, quite strongly and sees Bale as the future figurehead of the side. He won’t entertain any thoughts of selling him in the summer to Manchester United, who have called twice offering €100m and were rejected both times. Bale isn’t for sale.

The report also mentions that it’s Cristiano Ronaldo who is most likely to be moved to accommodate Bale on the left. The Madrid talisman would switch to the right or could possibly play as no.9.
