Manchester United managed David Moyes has reiterated that he didn’t say that the club won’t be interested in transfer dealings in January, but admits getting the right kind of player is difficult. After a tumultuous season so far, last thing Manchester United need is buying someone just for the sake of it.

Central midfield is one of the areas that need bolstering. Be it in this winter or next summer. Summer signing Fellaini (currently injured) has failed to replicate his good form of past seasons and has hardly done anything to justify his price-tag. Crux of the matter –  central midfielder – a creative player or a destroyer – or both – are needed to reshape the central midfield zone at Old Trafford.

According to reports from The Mirror, Manchester United are targeting Valencia’s Argentine midfielder Ever Banega and there has been early contact between him and Banega’s employers.

The 25-year-old wants a move from the Mestalla so it will be interesting to see if the deal can be done now. The report says, should they fail to land him in the winter, they would try for him again in the summer, but may face a tough competition from host of European clubs. According to transfermarkt.com Banega’s market value would be around £16m, but the Red Devils could lure him for around £12-13m region.

Valencia are keen to sign Manchester United’s striker Javier Hernandez, who quite surprisingly, has dropped down the pecking orders at the club, and the Mexican could be key to this deal. The player though is not looking for a move at the moment, while the Red Devils also not interested in selling him either.

Manchester United are also linked with Argentine defender Ezequiel Garay for the umpteenth time in the last couple of years, with The Metro reporting that the Red Devils are close to finally signing the Benfica defender in January.
