Over the past few days we have been covering the transfer rumours related to Porto full back Danilo. It is clearly understood that Louis Van Gaal has eyed the Brazilian to replace countryman Rafael at Old Trafford. However Real Madrid had earlier contacted the player’s entourage for a possible move to the Spanish capital.

This means that Real and United are locked in a two way battle to sign the highly rated youngster who reportedly has a €50m release clause. Portuguese media outlet Record have cited Spanish source Sport claiming that Danilo’s agent will fly to Manchester to hold talks as the Red Devils are reportedly ready to offer the quoted price to Porto.

Van Gaal had already earmarked Danilo as his first choice right back to replace Rafael while Antonio Valencia is only a temporary solution. In fact United had also sent scouts to watch the player in Porto’s recent games. the report also mentions that the Premier League giants are tracking Jackson Martinez and Alex Sandro.

Madrid based Media outlet MARCA though have an entirely different stance on the situation as they report that Real believe that can sign Danilo for less than €25m, which is half of what United are ready to pay for the player.

they also mentioned that Madrid are doing everything possible to sign the Brazilian and the Galacticos have received a ‘green light’ to sign the player. Thus two media outlets from Spain have different takes on the transfer rumours and it’s difficult to say who is right. One shall however, get the answer in the coming summer.
