Manchester United are finally close to signing a striker this summer, after agreeing to pay an astonishing €80m for Anthony Martial. The Premier League giants are set to pay €60m upfront, €15m in guaranteed incentives and the rest as performance related bonuses.
The player has been granted permission to travel to England now and will undergo his Manchester United medical later today.
Martial has been linked with a move away from Monaco previously, with the likes of Chelsea and Valencia interested. The young striker is now set to replace Javier Hernandez and Adnan Januzaj at Manchester United.
The duo have completed their moves to Bundesliga, with Hernandez joining Leverkusen permanently and Januzaj on loan to Borussia Dortmund.
Here is how Twitter reacted to the Martial news
Anthony Martial is a bright spark and will definitely be exciting to watch, he’s raw, but I’m genuinely excited to see him play for #mufc.

€75m for 19 year old Anthony Martial. Masterstroke signing by Van Gaal, ofcourse. He is a tactical genius. No panic signings.

By the way! Martial is a very good signing! Fees are going through the roof, but this is a prospect
