We covered the big event in Chicago, announcing the new partnership of Manchester United with AON, the Chicago-based American company in quite heavy detail. They presented the new Manchester United 2010-2011 Home Kit at the Niketown in Chicago, showing the first fruits of a collaboration that will last at least five years from now. AON and Manchester United have released a video of the official presentation of the new 10/11 United Kit, which we have exclusively for you here at soccerlens. Also, more info on the new United home kit, with some new pictures, and also more videos of the new 10/11 home kit.
Here’s a preview from Nike:
I also was able to touch the kit for the first time this week, and I have to say that I was a bit disappointed with the quality. The lines on the shoulders are very rubbery print and don’t look durable after too many washes. Also the back shapes, as I showed a picture about here, are real on the actual kit for sale, but are made from small holes in the shirt. The holes are for making the kit more breathable, and it looks very lightweight and breathable in general. It’s quite amazing that that fabric i touched was made out of recycled plastic bottles, eight of them to be exact.
Here’s a picture I snapped of the new shirt, which I think shows the colours a lot better than previous images:
The red is very vibrant on the actual kit, which is a better colour than last year in my opinion, matching the United logo much more than previous kits. I am very disappointed with the quality on the United crest, which is just printed, not fully embroidered.
Here’s the video from AON, announcing the partnership and the new kit, with the “United” message around the world:
I also snapped a picture of the new Manchester United 10/11 Shorts, as well as the Nike United jacket, which looked awesome on the shelf, as well as the new Nike footballs, with the United logo on them. Check them out:
More on the jackets and balls later, for now, here’s another video of the new United Kit:
