Manchester United starlet Adnan Januzaj has committed his international future to Belgium, with national team manager Marc Wilmots revealing the breakthrough on Twitter.

“I received official confirmation Adnan Januzaj who is now available to the Belgian national team for the rest of his career. This is good news and I am delighted that talented player is available for the Red Devils”, said Wilmots as quoted by Belgian newspaper, ‘DH.

The 19-year-old who was born in Brussels to Kosovar Albanian parents was eligible to play for up to five countries, with England also being on the list. However, it has now become clear that Januzaj will represent Belgium, who will play their first World Cup in Brazil this summer since 2002.

Januzaj has had a breakthrough season at Manchester United scoring 4 goals and grabbing 3 assists in 14 appearances for the Old Trafford outfit.

With Christian Bentke out of the World Cup and Kevin Mirallas ruled out for the rest of the season, Januzaj may well feature in the World Cup for his newly adopted nation.

Belgium are widely tipped to have a successful World Cup, with the plethora of dazzling talent they have at their disposal. They cruised through the qualifying rounds, picking up 26 points from a possible 30 en route to the finals.

Belgium are pitted against Algeria, Russia and South Korea in Group H for the showcase event come in June.
