Premier League club Manchester City are hardly out of the transfer news these days and today again is no different. This time, according to the British tabloid The Daily Mirror, the Eastlands club are preparing a £50 million record breaking bid for Liverpool hitman Fernando Torres.
Man City have been linked with a number of world class strikers in recent weeks, including Torres’ Spanish international teammate David Villa of Valencia, but most of them have been just newspaper stuff. And it appears that the man who runs the rumour mill is hatching yet another selling but baseless transfer report.
It’s been reported in The Daily Mirror that Manchester City are ready to break the previous world record transfer fee and splash out as much as £50 million to lure Torres from Anfield to the City of Manchester Stadium. What’s more, it’s being said that although the Man City sheikhs know that Torres will in every likelihood reject an offer to sign for City in January, they are confident that they can get the player in the summer.
As if…..! Come on, this has been going on and on and on and on and on. It is really becoming too much now!
Manchester City, given their money, seem to be linked to each and every footballer on the planet. Well, if you are to trust all the transfer reports, then you might well see Man City signing all the players in Europe by the time we start next season.
Now that would be something!
Did this story come from City? Didn’t think so. Its only you guys in the media who are linking us with every player under the Sun. As a lifelong City fan I’m getting bored of it too. Sites such as this running this story (that you read in the Mirror) are the worst culprits so don’t moan about it please. Its down to you not City!!
you can understand citehs confidence cant you! after all they`re a world famous brand with premiership popularity second only (marginally) to utd, they`re already part of the big’4′ with a spanish manager and a skipper he regards as the worlds best; the player himself has gone on record as saying he loves their city and their fans, whom he adores and who adore him and who are they most famous in all of football AND who have created the coolest footie chant going in his honour!
oh wait a minute! thats us! whys he going there again? for the money? they really dont understand this lad at all which means not only will they not sign him, they`re unlikely to sign a player/person of this calibre at all!
You cant really blame city can you, when life gives you lemons make lemonade. When arabs give you money go after the best footballers on the planet. Torres only said a week or so ago that players want to play for top teams (directing his comments towards city) so i find it strange that the mirro have the cheek to (or city) to report on this bid
lols get used to it scousers it wont be long b4 we are picking the best players off from each club if u cant beat em join em hey? also to make other teams weak around us we need to buy there best players the plan seems a simple one to me
who says lols on a blog? who old are you? Anyway in reality Torres isn’t a cocky money grabber like most players that will join city so im not worried
torres will stay in liverpool
man.city have to look for a nodher playr becaus torres will not leave liverpool.
lets get this into perspective! We might have become the richest club in the world. But if city dont sign a massive name early in january then they will not get anyone.
I have sufferred city for 44 years so a couple more until we finally have a decent team wont make any difference to me!
Its not going tobe an instant fix with all the money.Everyone is laughing at city at the moment but mark my words in a couple of seasons that will all change!…..City till i die!
