Manchester United have agreed on a deal with Spanish goalkeeper Victor Valdes and the 33-year-old will leave the club for free this month.

The former Barcelona keeper was signed as a backup to David De Gea, but the World Cup winner fell out of favour with manager Louis Van Gaal and has been banished from the first team ever since.

Apparently the Spaniard refused to train with the U21s to improve his fitness and was then alienated from the rest of the first team on match days as well as training sessions.

Valdes is keen to end his Old Trafford nightmare and was close to leaving the club during the summer. However, a deadline day move to Turkey broke down and the out of favour keeper has not managed to play a single game since then.

The £60,000-a-week star is eager to get back to playing regularly and it appears that after a meeting his with representatives, Manchester United have agreed to terminate his contract.

According to Daily Star, the player will now leave the club in January and his representatives are already looking for a new club.
