Lucas Silva transfer

Manchester United and Arsenal are one of the two Premier League clubs thought to be interested in Brazil under-21 midfielder Lucas Silva, who has been heavily linked a move to Real Madrid in January.

Cruzeiro are aware of interest in the player from several Europan clubs while the club president Gilvan de Pinho Tavares has confirmed that the club is willing to sell their prized asset but they would not settle for any fee for less than €15m.

“There is no final offer,” Tavares said, via ESPN. “We are waiting for an official offer. We have already set the market price. For less than 15 million euros, Cruzeiro will not start to talk.”

However, several of his Brazil team-mates believe that it is only a matter of time before he seals his move to the Bernabeu outfit.

Mayke, who played with him for four years said, as quoted by AS, via ESPN:

“Being able to play for a team like Real Madrid is the dream of any player. We know he will go, but he still can’t imagine it.”

Cruzerio striker Borges also praised the Brazilian youngster claiming it is only a matter of time before his Real Madrid transfer becomes official.

“Lucas has it all to play for Madrid and we are waiting to happen as soon as possible. He is a midfielder who presses well, moves the ball well, has a lot of quality in passing the ball and is a good finisher.”

Silva’s agent said back in August that his client has offers from Premier League and Serie A clubs, with Manchester United’s name being mentioned.

“There aren’t many details. I confirm I was contacted by people linked to Manchester United and Inter Milan. There are no official bids. We are waiting.”

Silva already has a few domestic honours to his name with the Brazilian club; winning both the Brazilian league in 2013 and the Campeonato Mineiro in 2014.
