Over the past few days we have covered stories about the Anfield side plotting a move for Genoa’s highly rated youngster Mattia Perin.

The trusted and reliable TMW website have reported last night that Perin could be well on the move from Italy. Perin’s agent Moreno Roggi said that the new trend in Italy is to have foreign goalkeepers and defenders. Roggi said, “The roles of goalkeepers and defenders were once the Italians, now the clubs prefer to focus on foreigners and, for this reason, Mattia could go abroad.”

Roggi however made it clear that Perin won’t make a transfer move in January as Genoa don’t want to part with their prized asset in te middle of the season. When asked about his client’s future, Roggi however made it clear that is his client is sold, it would certainly mean that a move abroad is set on the cards. Genoa however value Perin at €20m, thus it would be interesting to see if Liverpool splash such a huge figure for such a young custodian.
