Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski is enjoying a rich vein of goal-scoring form at the moment.

The 27-year-old has scored 14 goals in the Bundesliga, and a total of 19 in just 17 appearances in all competitions.

Quite naturally, his outstanding goal scoring form has led to links with a host of heavyweight European clubs.

When asked about interests from English clubs, his German agent Maik Barthel told Sport Bild, via ESPN

“It would be wrong to say there is no interest.”

Liverpool tops the list of all potential suitors, following the appointment of Lewandowski’s former Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp.

According to reports from the UK press, Klopp believes he can persuade Lewandowski to join the Anfield club.

Bayern will demand in the north of £60m for the Polish striker they signed on a Bosman fee in 2014.

Klopp signed Lewandowski from Lech Poznan in 2010 for a measly fee of £3.5m and transformed him into a world class striker.

Lewandowski has indicted (as per Express) that he would love to reunite with his former boss again, and therefore, a move to the Premier League can’t be completely ruled out.

The 27-year-old striker is under contract until 2019 and per ESPN, appears to have little interest in leaving Bayern anytime soon.

Do Liverpool need another out-an-out striker? The Reds are choc-a-bloc with strikers, with the likes of Christian Benteke, Daniel Sturridge, Danny Ings are already fighting for regular first team places, while Divock Origi has the potential to develop into a world beater in future.

Although there is no harm in adding a world class player to the side, but the money could be better used elsewhere.
