AC Milan are currently in talks with Real Madrid for the transfer Brazilian midfielder Kaka to San Siro.

It is the return of the prodigal season, or so it seems. According to recent reports, AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi and Real Madrid president Florentino Perez are currently negotiating the transfer of Kaka.

AC Milan have announced the above development in their official television channel. This comes just hours after the Brazilian has himself admitted to being ‘unhappy’ at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Kaka was spotted in Milan last night while dinning with his Brazil international teammate Robinho. When the 30-year-old was questioned regarding his future at the Spanish capital, Kaka disclosed that he is looking for a move back to Milan, a club where he rose to prominence.

Kaka was quoted in press:

“I had two days off so I decided to come and see Robinho. He’s a great friend and a great player, someone who can still give a lot to the club.

“A future for me at Milan? I have a contract at Real Madrid, but the present situation is not good for me or Real.

“I’m at the club’s disposal, but the two sides have to come to an agreement. I’m still very thankful to Milan, I love this city and I left many friends here.”

Kaka also indicated that he is prepared to take a pay-cut in order to move to Serie A. He added:

“I’m open to any solution and I’ve already told this to Real Madrid.”

Milan were always the favourites to land the Brazilian once Madrid allowed him to leave. But Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani earlier claimed that Kaka’s transfer is “impossible” considering his wages.

Now it seems like both the clubs have started their negotiation in what could be the biggest transfer in this window. Kaka is still loved by the Milan fans, and this could provide a great boost to the club, which lost a number of key players in the transfer market and through retirement at the start of this season.

This move to a club, where he has won the Ballon d’Or back in 2007, could also rejuvenate Kaka’s fading career. There have never been any doubts about Kaka’s talent, but presently his fitness is a concern. But then again, Milan have made a history out of prolonging careers of ageing footballers.
