victor valdesManchester United star Juan Mata has hinted that his side could sign Victor Valdes after claiming that the Red Devils are waiting to see the goalkeeper’s plans.

The Spain international left Barcelona at the end of the last season as a free agent after he decided to see through his contract at the Camp Nou. However, during the previous campaign the 32-year-old suffered a serious injury during the previous campaign.

Valdes recently recovered from the injury he suffered last season and is now without a club. He was reportedly linked with a move to Liverpool after Brendan Rodgers allowed Pepe Reina join Bayern Munich earlier in August.

Louis van Gaal allowed Valdes to train at United, though there was no agreement between the Spaniard and the 20-times English champions. The former Chelsea midfielder confirmed regular contact with his compatriot during training sessions, but admitted that he is unsure of his next destination.

“I speak regularly with Víctor Valdés, he’s training with us. We’re waiting to see what his plans are,” Mata told Spanish radio station COPE.

On Sunday, Valdes confirmed on social networking site that he has recovered from injury and says he is ready to return to action.

“Great training session Today. Almost Ready! Thanks for your supportive messages throughout these months. They have helped me a lot!” Valdes tweeted.

Van Gaal can go ahead and add Valdes to United squad and he can be a valuable addition to the squad. In addition to this, the former Barcelona star can act as a backup to David De Gea, if the latter decides to end his Old Trafford career next summer.
