Tottenham linked defender Jordi Alba has revealed that he hopes to remain with Barcelona.

Spurs may well need to bolster their defensive ranks this summer given that the key duo of Toby Alderweireld and Danny Rose have been linked with moves away from the club.

They have subsequently been linked with the signature of Alba and this will surely be exciting to fans.

Alba is a very decorated player at the highest level.

After joining Barcelona in 2012 from Valencia, he has gone on to win the Champions League, four La Liga titles as well as four Copa del Rey titles.

The 29-year-old played 48 times in all competitions for the Catalan giants last season and this indicates that he is an important player for the side so they may be hesitant to part ways with him.

He also indicated that he hopes to remain with Barcelona for the rest of his career when he said:

“No, no, I’m very good at Barca. If it were up to me, I would stay at Barcelona all my life.

“But it does not depend on me but on what the club wants. It also depends on my performance, which this season has been very good, but I do not see myself outside of Barcelona.”
