Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez, nicknamed Chicharito, is said to be considering his long-term future with the Premier League holders.

Sources close to the Mexican international are suggesting Hernandez is feeling disillusioned at the Red Devils, and feels there is nothing he can do to command a starting place in the first team.

His contract doesn’t expire until 2016, but many feel the striker could leave before then, amid rumours of interest from a number of European sides this summer.

The 25-year old has been in good form in the last 12 months. He scored 10 goals in 22 Premier League games – 13 of which came from the bench. Averaging just 43 minutes of playing time-per-game in the league, his goal-ratio is very impressive.

Manchester United fans have been left in the dark about his current situation. Hernandez was left out of the 18-man side which recently won the Community Shield in a 2-0 victory against FA Cup winners Wigan Athletic- seemingly due to a minor injury. But no word has been made on the side’s official website or on Twitter.

More than a third of his appearances for United have been from the bench, and despite his goalscoring record being impressive, he’s continued to be used as an impact player.

Hernandez feels he will always be playing second-fiddle to Robin Van Persie regardless of club form – as was the case last season when the latter underwent a goal drought, but was still favoured over Hernandez.

La Liga side Valencia have been rumoured to be potential suitors of the striker. However, missing out on the Champions League for this season could prove to be a stumbling block in the deal.

They finished 5th in the league, and lost their top goalscorer Roberto Soldado to Tottenham Hotspur this summer, so they’ve subsequently been seeking a viable replacement.

Javier Hernandez has scored 115 goals in 248 games (96 games as a sub) for club and country. He’s regarded as one of the best six-yard box strikers in the world, and has become a superb impact-player.

There has been no official word to suggest Hernandez would hand in a transfer request, but it’s clear he’s considering his time at United, and may well be exiting the side in the near future should the right club show an interest.
