As we are approaching the end of the season, Inter are starting to consider their objectives for the upcoming transfer window. In attack, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, they are deciding between going for a pure striker or a number 10.

One of the players they are looking at is El Niño, Chelsea star Fernando Torres, and they are also rekindling their interest for Tottenham Hotspur’s Erik Lamela, who had already been approached during the January transfer window.

While Inter wait to see if Torres is open to a transfer to Italy, the Nerazzurri’s technical director Piero Ausilio is keeping a close eye on Lamela, who is considered a good option as a supporting striker. Inter president Erick Thohir considers Torres his top choice, but more time is needed also to convince the player. It will also depend on the offers for striker Mauro Icardi, as well as the decisions that will be made by coach Walter Mazzarri and the club’s staff in an upcoming transfer market summit.

Concerning the defence, Walter Samuel is getting closer and closer to a move to Fiorentina, while Fenerbahce left back Caner Erkin is being linked with a move to the Milan giants. His contract is expiring and he has turned down an offer to extend it to 2017. Him becoming a free agent is obviously appealing to the club, who have put Erkin high on their list of potential new players, without yet making strong moves for him as they consider their use of the available spots for non-EU players. However, he is a well-liked prospect and is taken into serious consideration.
