Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has once and for all shrugged off claims linking him with a move to Premier League giants Arsenal earlier in the summer. The news of Benzema to Arsenal keep on coming, despite the transfer window slamming shut a week ago.

This time the Frenchman was on French TV show Telefoot, where he was once again quizzed on his long-awaited move to Arsenal. Benzema reiterated his desire to stay put at Real Madrid, describing the Bernabeu outfit as the “best club in the world.”

“Not at all,” Benzema retorted when asked about a move to Arsenal, as reported by ITV.

He further added: “I’m not going to repeat myself every time.

“I’m at the best club in the world and I’m going to continue to work every year.

“I’m happy where I am.”

Earlier in the summer, Benzema even took to Twitter to refute claims he was close to joining Arsenal, seemingly making the transfer a non-event.

With Euro 2016 in his homeland next summer, there was little substance to the 27-year-old’s links with the Gunners, and also with Real Madrid having only Benzema as their only specialist centre-forward. Benzema made his first start of the season for Los Blancos in their 5-0 drubbing of Real Betis before the international break.

With the Gunners severely depleted in their attacking options following news of the long-term injury to Danny Welbeck earlier this month, they could rekindle their interest in Benzema in January. However, with the player himself putting the matter to bed this time, there are slim chances of him being linked with the north London club in the coming transfer window.
