Why Heinze leaving Manchester United for Real Madrid makes sense

With continuous speculation about Heinze moving to Real Madrid (or even Barcelona) the question has come up, will he move ?

The answer has to be yes.

At Manchester United Gabriel Heinze has to fight off the competition of experienced players like Patrice Evra and Mikael Silvestre, both of whom have signed long-term contracts at Manchester United earlier this season. He has been constantly linked with a move away from Manchester United this season, and tellingly, there have been no formal comments on his ‘lack of availability’ from Manchester United.

On the other hand, Real Madrid have lost Roberto Carlos to Fenerbahce and Marcelo is expected to go out on loan to Espanyol. This leaves one choice for left back which is Miguel Torres who is quite inexperienced. This will give Heinze (or any other left-back coming into Real Madrid) first preference for the left back role as he is experienced.

Real Madrid’s interest is certain, and until the transfer season ends (and probably after that), Heinze will continually be linked with a move away from Manchester United (most popular targets are Real Madrid and Juventus).

Man Utd may not have signed Gareth Bale, but they have already indicated that Pique and Evans will get games next season, making it almost certain that 1-2 defenders will be leaving this summer.

Will Heinze be one of them?
