From France: Liverpool sign World Cup star on a six-year-deal

Liverpool have secured the signature of Belgium striker Divock Origi, according to France Football. Although Liverpool have yet to announce the deal officially, it is understood that the player has signed a six year deal with the Reds.

The 19-year-old travelled to Boston to complete his medical yesterday and penned a long term deal. The Belgium striker, who impressed heavily in the World Cup, would cost around €13m and is likely to spend the rest of the season on loan with Lille. 

Origi impressed in the World Cup, where Marc Wilmots played him as a lone striker. Usually he plays as a wide forward for Lille, but as a striker netter the winning goal late in the match against Russia during the group stages.

Liverpool have already signed Rickie Lambert and close to completing a deal for French striker Loic Remy as well. Furthermore, the Reds have agreed a deal for Dejan Lovren and all the signings could be officially announced next week.
