Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho made it very clear that Atletico Madrid can re-sign Filipe Luis, but the La Liga giants have to meet Chelsea’s valuation.

“If they want him back they have to pay, they have to pay and then we have to react and go to the market to keep our balance,” he said in an interview

It seems like a deal has been struck between Chelsea and Atletico over the transfer of Luis. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, one of the most reliable journalists around, Filipe Luis will return to Atletico Madrid, and the deal is as good as done.

The deal seem absurd to me really. Chelsea paid around 22m for Luis only a year ago, and the club have been maintaining throughout the summer, that they would only sell the Brazilian permanently, only and only if the transfer fee is met, which is quoted around €16m.

A 3m loan deal does not make enough sense, especially taking into account it could be a potential two-year-loan deal. Basically it would mean Luis seeing the reminder of his contract at Atletico and he would leave Chelsea for nothing!
