Everton would be interested in signing Adnan Januzaj, if Manchester United made him available on loan next season.

United are yet to decide whether Januzaj would be required in Louis van Gaal’s squad next season. The Red Devils are reportedly considering the option of sending him on loan as they cannot guarantee him regular first team football.

Januzaj was one of the star performers under David Moyes but has failed to cement his position under the new manager. He has made only seven league starts this season and has not started a game since United’s 3-1 win against Burnley in early February.

He has somehow failed to adjust to the new system under Van Gaal and has dropped down the pecking order at the club behind Angel di Maria, Juan Mata and Ashley Young.

United are looking to strengthen their forward line and have made contact with PSV Eindhoven about Memphis Depay, the top scorer in the Eredivise.

The Red Devils are also planning to sign an attacking wide player – with Memphis Depay and Gareth Bale on the list – and such a signing will invariably lead to Januzaj being less likely to start games next season.

Everton retain a long standing interest in Januzaj and ESPN sources suggest the Merseysiders are likely to be on alert if he is allowed to leave.

There is uncertainty about the future of Kevin Mirallas and recurrent injuries to Steven Piennar means a winger could be required at Goodison Park next season.

Martinez has a proven track record of developing young players on loan from major clubs, signing Gerard Deulofeu from Barcelona and Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea for Everton.

A loan move to Everton is ideal for all parties involved. Manchester United do not view Everton as a direct rival and would want to loan him out for regular Premiership game time. For Everton, Januzaj can potentially form a fearsome partnership with either Leighton Baines or Seamus Coleman in the wide areas and provide much-needed service to the forward line.
