In the latest edition of the EA Sports Player Performance Index Rankings, five Chelsea players have booked their places in Premier League top 20 rankings. Chelsea steamrolled Swansea City 5-0 last Saturday; the result that took them five points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
Diego Costa scored twice on Saturday and took his goal tally to 17 in the Premier League. He retains the #1 spot in the PL rankings, with 602 points, way ahead of his team-mate Eden Hazard, who lies in third with 572 points.
Cesc Fabregas, the assist master, who as per our friends at www.oulala.com, is currently the best midfielder in the world at the moment based on the stats ( You can read the article here ), retains the #4 spot with 509 points.
Brazilian playmaker Oscar also scored a brace against the Swans and he moves up to 15th position in the latest PL rankings. Chelsea skipper John Terry is on 16th with 379 points.
It was a great weekend for Arsenal as well. The Gunners earned a memorable 2-0 victory over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium and have moved on to 5th place, one point behind Manchester United.
Santi Cazorla was brilliant against City, in fact, he has been in great form for the past few games, and the Spaniard has moved into top 10 for the first time this season. He is on 7th with 439 points.
Alexis Sanchez couldn’t contribute with goals on Sunday and dropped to #2nd in the PL rankings, behind Costa. The Chilean superstar is on 576 points, four points ahead of Chelsea’s Hazard.
Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie are sitting comfortably in 13th and 14th in the rankings, while Liverpool have their sole representative in Raheem Sterling, who retains the #10 spot.
