cavaniUruguayan star Edinson Cavani has ended all rumours linking him with a big money move to Manchester United after the striker revealed that he is happy at Paris Saint-Germain.

Earlier reports from Uruguay suggested the former Napoli star will leave the Ligue 1 champions in the summer transfer window and completed his €80m switch to Old Trafford.

However, Cavani has refused to rule out any possible exit from Parc des Princes after confirming that he is happy in Paris.

“I’m certain that I’ll stay – why wouldn’t I? I feel very good in Paris, I have a contract to respect at PSG. I’d prefer to be here. I feel good here,” Cavani told L’Equipe

“Like I’ve already said, that doesn’t depend solely on the position of a player but also things that can happen at the club.”

Last season, Laurent Blanc fielded Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the main striker to lead the French champions’ attack. This forced Cavani to play out of his natural position, which saw the player being unhappy at the club.

However, the Uruguayan international claims that he has already spoken with the coaching staff regarding his role at PSG next season and is hoping to play in his natural position.

“The staff replied to what I had mentioned. We had some small problem with respect to the position I wanted but I feel very good about that,” the former Napoli man said.

“I waited for the right moment to speak. It’s important for a striker to play in a position which is natural for him. Now everyone knows by position and it’s not worth talking about,” Cavani explained.

With Ibrahimovic still at PSG next season, it is unlikely that Cavani could pip the Swedish striker in getting the role of a central striker. Should the Uruguayan player continues, it should be seen where Blanc will field Cavani in his starting XI.
