According to Sky Sports Italia Juventus playmaker Diego is set to depart the club and return to Germany.
The 25 year old made a big money move to Turin last summer following three successful seasons with Werder Bremen. However his inaugural campaign in Serie A had been uninspiring as he’s failed to adapt to his new surroundings.
Wolfsburg, now managed by former England boss Steve McClaren have registered their interest in the player and according to reports have put a €16 million offer on the table.
The German club confirmed that general manager Dieter Hoeness had been in Turin last week. It was believed that the main topic of conversation was regarding the sale of Edin Dzeko to the Italian giants, but now surprisingly it’s Diego who seems to be the subject of debate between both parties.
Juventus had a dismal campaign as their season faded drastically and only managed to scrape into the Europa League by finishing seventh. The club may now decide to cash in on one of their big names in order to rebuild.
Meanwhile Manchester City’s Craig Bellamy has confirmed that he held talks with Wolfsburg regarding a possible transfer. The Welshman revealed that he spoke to Steve McClaren but declined a possible move as he believed he had a future at Eastlands. However following an insightful interview with Sky Sports he has described his anguish at City under life with Roberto Mancini and expressed a desire to leave the football club.
