Chelsea’s young midfielder Charly Musonda has revealed that he could leave Stamford Bridge and make a switch to Ligue 1 on-loan in the summer.

The 18-year-old is one of the highly rated youngsters in the Blues’ academy after he went on to score 12 goals for the West London club’s Under-21’s before Christmas this season. His form has seen him receive a call from the Belgium Under-21 side earlier this year.

Chelsea made sure they secured his future at the club as the talented midfielder committed his future to the Premier League champions by signing a contract extension, which will keep him at the club until 2019.

Musonda has now expressed his desire to play in France after confirming that the top clubs from Ligue 1 like Paris Saint-Germain, AS Monaco and Marseille are interested in signing him on-loan.

However, a decision will be taken by Musonda on his future only after he holding discussions with Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho.

“There are a lot of great clubs in Europe who are interested in me, including several French clubs. I know that Marseille, Monaco and PSG follow me,” Musonda said, as quoted by the London Evening Standard.

“It [Ligue 1] is a good championship in which I can progress and have a regular playing spot. It is a step that may, perhaps, be necessary for me to be among the best players in Europe.”

“Everything will depend on the discussions that I will have with the coach [Mourinho] and the club’s management at the end of the season.”

“At the moment, I do not know where I will play next season, but I think a loan is possible. My priority is Chelsea and, obviously, if I can get more playing time, I will stay. But if this is not the case, I will ask to go on loan.

“If I have to move to France, it will surely be to play for Monaco or Marseille. But, again, for the moment I’m at Chelsea and I feel fine [here],” he concluded
