Liverpool travel to Stamford Bridge this Saturday and will take on the Premier League champions Chelsea, hoping to secure their first league win under new manager Jurgen Klopp.

The former Borussia Dortmund manager has drawn his first two league games against Tottenham and Southampton. After a win against Bournemouth in the League cup last night, Klopp will be aiming pile on further misery on the Blues this weekend.

Meanwhile, the pressure just keeps mounting on Jose Mourinho and Chelsea after they crashed out of the League cup against Stoke this week. The Chelsea fan favourite is under tremendous pressure and could be sacked if his team loses to Liverpool on Saturday.

After winning the title last season Chelsea have made a catastrophic start to this season. The Premier League Champions are 15th in the table with just 3 wins out of their 10 league games.

Two years ago it was Jose Mourinho and Chelsea that ended Liverpool’s title hopes with a win at Anfield. It is ironic how the Reds could effectively end Mourinho’s reign as Chelsea boss with a win on Saturday.

Chelsea vs Liverpool: Team News

Jose Mourinho will be delighted to welcome the suspended defensive midfielder Nemanja Matic back into the side. The Serbian picked up a red card during Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat to West Ham.

However the Premier League champions will be without the services of star striker Diego Costa who sustained a rib injury during the capital one cup clash against Stoke City on Tuesday.

Mourinho claimed that the Spanish international has been hospitalized and the true extent of his injury is yet to be determined. Should Diego Costa fail to recover in time, Loic Remy could start after his impressive goalscoring display against Stoke.

Defender Branislav Ivanovic will miss the game with an hamstring injury.

Meanwhile, new Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will be without some of his best players in Daniel Sturridge and Jordan Henderson. Joining them on the injury list is the former Burnley striker Danny Ings.

The young defenders – Joe Gomez and Jon Flanagan are sidelined with long term injuries as well.

Klopp confirmed that Christian Benteke should be available to start against Chelsea. The Belgian scored an important goal against Southampton and was rested in the midweek against Bournemouth after some discomfort.
