Chelsea are still trying to complete a deal for the highly talented Atalanta midfielder Franck Kessie.

Guardian are reporting that Chelsea are in talks with the Serie A club, but they might have to wait until summer to sign the Ivorian.

Kessie is a target for Manchester United and Liverpool as well according to the report from Guardian. The report also claims that Conte is a huge admirer of the Serie A midfielder and wants to sign him in January.

Apparently, the 20-year-old midfielder is valued at around £30m-£34m by the Serie A giants and is a key player for Atalanta. Guardian add that Napoli have a first refusal on the player if they can agree on a fee with Atalanta.

Kessie has been likened to Yaya Toure because of his playing style. The talented young midfielder has scored 6 goals in 16 games so far this season.

In other news, Patrick Bamford is set to return to Chelsea from his loan spell.

The 23-year-old has failed to establish himself as a regular starter at Burnley and will return to the club now.

According to Daily Star, Middlesbrough are monitoring his situation and could make a move for him. Bamford was a massive hit at Boro during their time in the Championship and Karanka is ready to bring him back to Riverside.

Bamford has made just six appearances for Burnley this season and the Premier League leaders are ready to recall him rather than have him warm the bench at Turf Moor.

The report from Daily Star adds that Chelsea have a clause to recall him early if they want to and the Blues are looking to exercise their right soon.
