Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg have set their sight on Chelsea winger Andre Schurrle, and are looking to price him away from Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window with a €30m tempting offer.

Schurrle has struggled to get regular games this season having started only five Premier League matches so far and has been substituted twice at half-time in each of the past two matches he has started.

This comes after an outstanding World Cup campaign in which he played in six of Germany’s seven matches, helping his nation winning the trophy, where he scored three goals. Mourinho has recently urged him to increase his physical strength if he wants to become a regular with Chelsea, per Matt Hughes of The Times.

Mourinho loves player who can contribute more to the defence along with attacking attributes, and having already succeeded in turning Hazard and Willian into a complete winger, he wants Schurrle to perform the same.

His lack of game time has led to interest from several European heavy weights like Liverpool and Atletico Madrid, but as per The Times, there is no chance of him being permitted to leave Chelsea this month.

Amidst of this, Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg, who have no shortage of funds, are looking to sign an attacking midfielder to bolster the squad and have targeted Schurrle for this role, as per reports from Gianluca Di Marzio.

Wolfsburg are second in the Bundesliga, 11 points behind leaders Bayern Munich, but are looking to consolidate that position. In that respect, Schurrle would add an extra cutting edge to the side.

The 24-year-old is not keen to leave Chelsea, but with Wolfsburg ready to offer €30m, it might tempt the Blues to enter into negotiations. The thing is with Chelsea fighting for titles on all fronts, Schurrle would like to stay and give himself the chance to win silverwares with the club.
