This is going to be a busy summer for the new Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, not just in terms of signing players but keeping the ones at the club as well.

Several first team stars have been linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge and one such player is the Brazilian winger Willian.

The former Anzhi player has had a very good season personally and is a target for Manchester United.

According to latest reports, Willian and Chelsea are close to agreeing a new and improved deal. The player is set to sign a new contract at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are unwilling to let one of their best players join Manchester United and are offering him a bumper new deal to fend off interest from Jose Mourinho’s new team.

The 27 year old will sign a 4 year extension with a pay-rise.

In other news, Chelsea have submitted a 19 million pounds bid for the Napoli centre back Kalidou Koulibaly.

Napoli want 30 million pounds for the Senegal defender and have rejected Chelsea’s initial offer.

Antonio Conte knows the Serie A defender well and wants him to strengthen the Chelsea back four alongside Terry, Cahill and Zouma.

Koulibaly recently claimed that he might speak to Conte about the transfer soon and the rumours of this bid from Chelsea makes perfect sense now.

It will be interesting to see if the Blues up their offer now. They have also been linked with moves for Bonucci and John Stones.

Finally, rumours of a move for Portuguese midfielder Joao Mario has resurfaced again.

This time, reports are claiming that Chelsea have made a 50 million Euros bid for the Sporting midfielder before the Euros started. Despite his obvious quality, that is an absurd sum for a player who is yet to prove himself on the international level or the Champions League.

Apparently, Sporting will begin negotiations over a new contract with the player soon and this could very well be a ploy from the agent to increase his client’s wages.

Agents have often planted stories in the media to get the best possible deals for their clients.

Joao Mario plays as an attacking midfielder and Chelsea already have the likes of Willian, Oscar, Hazard, Pedro capable of playing there. A move for him makes no sense for the Blues, especially at that price.
