According to the report, Barcelona have enquired about the availability of the player and were given encouragement that Chelsea are willing to sell the 26-year-old for the right price. This come as a contradiction to what Jose Mourinho said few days back that none of Chelsea’s star players will be sold in the summer.

It has been reported time and again this summer and at such it has become a cliché that Jose Mourinho is unconvinced about Luiz’ defensive abilities, as a result of which the Portuguese might look to cash in on the player, whom the Chelsea fans and the hierarchies tips to be the next skipper of the club.

Moving on to some other reports, the Blues are looking to hijack a deal from right under the noses of London rivals Tottenham, after making an enquiry for £8.2 million rated Botafogo defender Doria.

The highly rated Brazilian starlet has been chased by several top European clubs too, but according to reports, Chelsea are leading the chase for his services, though Botafogo club president Mauricio Assumpcao insisted that negotiations will only begin if any club triggers his  £11 million release clause.

Elsewhere, striker Demba Ba, whose future has been well speculated in the media too, has become a shock target of Serie A giants Napoli.

The Senegal international joined the club in the January transfer window last season but with new manager in charge, he is deemed as surplus to requirements at the West London club. Napoli have already signed Gonzalo Higuain from Real Madrid and manager Rafael Benitez is looking to add another good striker in the ranks and the Spaniard is keen to be re-united with his former player at his new club.

Finally, Liverpool are targeting to bring Chelsea youngster Lucas Piazon on a season-long loan, according to reports from Daily Express. The Brazilian youngster has been told that he needs to spend another year on loan to develop further before claiming first team places at Stamford Bridge.
