The Belgian keeper picked up a knee injury against Swansea and has been sidelined since September.
According to Daily Star, Courtois has made considerable progress and will return to action in the first week of December.
The Chelsea keeper is already back in training kicking balls but the former Atletico Madrid keeper will miss the next four Chelsea games against Norwich, Tel-Aviv, Bournemouth and Spurs.
In his absence, the former Stoke keeper Asmir Begovic has been performing in between the sticks for Chelsea. The Bosnian has been decent in his last few outings but Courtois’ world class quality is irreplaceable.
Begovic’s error against West Ham cost his side an important point and Mourinho is keen to have his star keeper back on the pitch. The Belgian saved his side on countless occasions last season and is expected to do the same when he returns to action this season.
Courtois is expected to be back in time for Chelsea’s crunch clash against Porto in the Champions League on December 9th.
Chelsea face the Portuguese outfit in a crucial tie next month. The Blues need to win in order to secure safe passage to the knockout rounds and Mourinho will look to avenge his side’s defeat away to Porto last month.
