According to Corriere dello Sport, Juventus are closing in on the transfer of Chelsea midfielder, Ramires.

Juventus have lost two of their starting central midfielders this summer and are keen to rebuild their midfield.

Andrea Pirlo and Arturo Vidal have both left the Turin giants in favour of MLS and Bayern Munich respectively.

Max Allegri is keen to build his midfield around Paul Pogba now and realises the importance of signing a workhorse for next season.

Vidal’s engine was key to Juventus’ midfield over the years and Allegri believes that Ramires could be the man to replicate that.

The Chelsea midfielder has been a squad player under Mourinho and has struggled to hold down a regular starting berth at Stamford Bridge. It is believed that Ramires is keen on a move to Juventus, where he is guaranteed a starting role alongside Pogba and Marchisio.

Having reached the Champions League finals last season, Juventus have spent a lot of money this summer.

Although the Italian giants have lost the spine of their side in the form of Tevez, Pirlo and Vidal, the likes of Mandzukic, Dybala etc have done well so far.

Juventus are also closing in on a deal for Julian Draxler, who is being monitored by Arsenal.

Chelsea have been linked with a move for Belgian central midfielder, Axel Witsel earlier this summer. However, the rumours have died down since then.

Should the Blues decide to let go of Ramires, Mourinho is expected to dip into the transfer market for a replacement.
