Who made an impression on us? Find out with our Blues playing ratings below:

Petr Cech

Made saves you’d expect from a top keeper. Beaten on near post for equalizer, but blame lies with defence. 6/10

Branislav Ivanovic

Fairly average display from Serb defender. Always a willing outlet up and down the right. 5/10

Gary Cahill

Could have scored early on. Equalizer came from a ball down his side of defence. 4.5/10

John Terry

A presence in both penalty areas. His clearance led to Torres’s late winner. 5/10

Ashley Cole

Regaining sharpness after three weeks out with rib injury. Starting to wonder whether he will be first choice at international level. 5/10

Ramires

Tendency to go down easily creeping into his gam. Booked for one of many rash challenges. Better going forward than defensively. 5/10

Frank Lampard

Mourinho’s faithful retainer was quiet in the engine room. Set pieces mixed by his high standards. Booked for a foul from behind. Subbed. 5.5/10

Andre Schurrle

Tap in put Chelsea ahead. Otherwise he drifted in and out of this big game. Subbed. 6/10

Oscar

Shows lovely touches and continues to draw fouls. Still failed to set this match alight though. 5.5/10

Eden Hazard

Failed to exert much influence on this game. Threw himself to the floor in City box during second half. There was contact from Zabaleta, but lucky to escape a booking for diving. Lazy display and subbed late on. 4.5/10

Fernando Torres

Chelsea’s man of the match. Didn’t let his glaring miss bother him. If anything, it fired Torres up to make the Schurrle goal. Later rattled the bar and profited from defensive calamity to snatch the win. Glimpses of the old Torres here. 7/10

Subs

John Obi Mikel. Got 25 minutes in which to do his usual dirty work. 5/10

Willian. Seems to be the Special One’s impact sub. Curled a late free kick wide, but had Joe Hart scrambling. 5.5/10

Samuel Eto’o. Only got on for final six minutes and stoppage time. N/A
