Chelsea have agreed on a deal to sell striker Loic Remy to Leicester City according to reports from the English media.

Express have reported that the Blues have accepted a bid of £11.5m for the French striker, who will now join the Premier League leaders Leicester City permanently.

Remy joined Chelsea back in 2014 after a successful spell at Newcastle and spent most of his time at Stamford Bridge on the bench, providing cover for Diego Costa.

Leicester have loaned out the talented young striker Kramaric to Hoffenheim recently and it makes sense for them to make a move for the 29-year-old Chelsea forward.

Remy has proven himself in the Premier League and could be a very good alternative to Jamie Vardy. The Englishman has been a bit unfortunate with injuries over the last month and Ranieri’s men have struggled to score goals in his absence.

Remy’s addition would not only add more goals to the side, the Frenchman can operate in a number of positions and will add some creativity as well as pace to the Leicester attack.

The Chelsea striker is on £75,000 per week at Stamford Bridge and it is unlikely that Leicester will be able to afford that. The details of the move are yet to be revealed and it will be interesting to see if Remy takes a pay cut to join the Foxes and play regularly.
