Dunga’s 23-man Brazil Squad: Chelsea star Out, Coutinho included

Brazil manager Dunga has announced the 23-man squad for next month’s Copa America that features four Premier League players. 

Liverpool forward Philippe Coutinho has retained his place, but Chelsea midfielder Oscar misses out through injury. Oscar’s club team-mates Felipe Luis and Willian were included in the side. 

Oscar, who has been ruled with an injury suffered during a training session, didn’t feature on Sunday as Chelsea beat Crystal Palace to win the Premier League. 

Dunga revealed Chelsea medical team have told him that Oscar’s recuperation will take time and he won’t be at his best during the Copa. 

“We spoke with Jose Mourinho and the doctor at Chelsea,” he said as quoted by Sky Sports. “Oscar’s recuperation will take time and he won’t be at his best during the Copa America.

“After the Copa America we have the World Cup qualifiers, and we thought it best for him to be ready for the qualifiers.”

Manchester City’s Fernandinho has been named in the squad while Porto’s Casemiro gets a call up to replace Oscar.
