Reports in the Spanish press have recently claimed Fiorentina ace Juan Cuadrado has agreed personal terms with Barcelona and will join them when the summer transfer window opens.

Spanish paper Mundo Deportivo claim La Liga giants want to agree a move as soon as possible with fears that the Columbians price tag could soar after the world cup.

Could be heading to Barcelona?

Cuadrado could be a replacement for Dani Alves, who according to Spanish source Marca, is a target for PSG. With only one year left on his contact, the club may wish to cash in on him in what will supposedly be a “mini-revolution” at Barcelona next season. A trophy-less campaign is not enjoyed what so ever by the Spanish giants and they will inject much needed quality into their squad to avoid repeat disappointments next season. Cuadrado undoubtedly possesses the quality they need to get back to being at the top of their game.

The Fiorentina right wing-back has been immense this season in Serie A to the point where all the big clubs are chasing him. The Columbian is known for his versatility, skill, dribbling and his fantastic ability to get on the score sheet. The 25 year old has scored 11 goals in 34 appearance for the Italian side this season.

If he signs for Barcelona it will be a huge blow for Arsenal and Liverpool, both looked to be in the running for his signature. Manchester United were in for the player, with Moyes sending scouts to watch him on several occasions, but when Moyes was axed as manager it appeared Wenger had the advantage in winning his signature. Cuadrado would be a superb replacement for Sagna who is supposedly a target for Manchester City as he has stalled over signing a new contract.

If the Columbian has a choice of either Barcelona or Arsenal, you can’t blame him for joining a side with the likes of Messi and Neymar. He will certainly improve the side that has come under certain criticism this season for going slightly backwards.

Whoever wins the race for this player is signing a future star. Cuadrado will be a name to look out for next season, that is for certain.
