ALVES

Barcelona star Dani Alves has dropped a strong hint that he will not be at the Catalan club next season after revealing he still has not been offered a new deal.

The Brazilian joined the Catalans in 2008 from Sevilla and has gone on to be part of one of the most successful sides in history.

But the 31-year-old’s time in Barcelona looks to be drawing to a close with less than four months on his contract remaining – a fact the defender seems to be accepting.

“If I have to leave, I do so with bravely, with a beautiful smile and happiness in my heart. No matter what happens; I tried to be happy, not perfect,” Alves said in a photo on Instagram with his Brazilian teammates Adriano, Rafinha, Douglas and Neymar.

It is evident that Alves is keen to extend his stay but is facing the reality that he will have to play for another club next season.

Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool have all been linked with the player, who earlier in the season said he would like to experience playing in the birth place of football.

Will Alves sign for an English side in the summer? Or will Barcelona make a last ditch effort to keep him?
